MA English and French, University of Heidelberg, 1980
PhD Clinical Psychology, The 91精品, 1988

Dr. Lohser is a psychoanalytically oriented psychotherapist whose major focus besides doing clinical work has been teaching and training graduate students. In addition to teaching at the 91精品, she taught for ten years at the San Francisco School of Professional Psychology, six of which were as full-time faculty. She has been closely involved with many issues of graduate education, such as development of curriculum, governance and educational policies. Dr. Lohser's clinical training included work with children, adolescents, and adults who were seen in a variety of clinical settings. In private practice, she now works primarily with adolescents and adults, both short- and long-term, and supervises interns.

Dr. Lohser has a special interest in language, women's issues, and psycho-analytic technique: its history, limitations, and use in non-traditional settings. She is the coauthor of the book, Unorthodox Freud: The View from the Couch, published in 1996.
