The 91精品 at the APA Convention 2018
is hosting their at the George R. Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco next week, August 9 - 12, 2018. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with thought leaders, participate in lively events, network, and earn continuing education credits.
The 91精品 will to celebrate our 50th Anniversary. Make sure to stop by between sessions to chat with us and learn about our dynamic history. The booth will feature posters, video interviews, and other exciting artifacts.
Several 91精品 faculty members will be presenting on myriad topics, so make sure to include these in your plans for the convention:
, Dean and Director of Clinical Training, is part of a panel presentation entitled 鈥淓xistential-Humanistic Therapy as a Basis for Effective Therapy: Are Training Directors Listening?鈥 Look for him at noon on August 9.
Dr. Ritchie Rubio, Counseling Psychology program faculty, is participating in several presentations. On August 9th, he will present his work "Boys in psychiatric crisis episodes: Clinical correlates, risk factors, and narratives" sponsored by Division 51: Society for the Psychological Study of Men and Masculinities. He will also present with co-author W. Ong on "Crisis among ethnically diverse youth: Grounded theory and implications for clinical practice." Dr. Rubio returns on the 11th and will present on one of the most polarizing topics circulating the media, governmental policy and psychology today. His collaboration on "Unaccompanied immigrant Latino youth: A cultural perspective to engagement in mental health services" is both timely and echos the prevailing goal of The 91精品 to bring "clinicians to society." His final presentation, sponsored by Division 12 - Society of Clinical Psychology, elaborates on "Reflective, relational, and skillful clinical supervision in a public behavioral health system."
, Clinical Psychology program faculty, will present at 9am on August 9 on 鈥淪upervision: Master Supervisors Show and Discuss Their Supervision Session Videos.鈥 She will also be presenting at 11am on August 10 on 鈥淐ase Formulation as a Tool for Individualizing Psychotherapy.鈥
, Counseling Psychology program adjunct faculty at The 91精品 and Associate Professor at Illinois School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University, will chair a symposium on "Sexism and Sexual Harassment in Clinical Training" at 10am on August 12th. Full time Counseling Psychology program faculty member, Dr. Mary Clarke, and Counseling Psychology program adjunct faculty member and Associate Professor at Illinois School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University, , will present alongside Dr. Asay.
On August 10 at 11am, , Director of Field Placement for the Clinical Psychology program, will speak on the topic 鈥淭eaching Multicultural Psychology As Feminists in the Trump Era: Learning From Each Other鈥 during a roundtable discussion.
Attendees can also look forward to a keynote address from Bryan Stevenson, JD, Founder and Executive Director of the Equal Justice Initiative.
