Find Articles
The 91精品 Library has full-text access to over 1,400 scholarly journals in psychology and related disciplines.聽 Finding articles is usually a two-step process:聽 Search an index to find a citation, and then use the citation to find the full text.聽 To find articles in the field of psychology, start with PsycINFO, the most comprehensive index to the scholarly literature in psychology.聽 (To find scholarly literature in the field of education, use ERIC, and for biomedical literature, use PubMed.聽 Links to all electronic resources can be found at Library Resources.)
To use PsycInfo effectively, see the (PDF).聽 In short, it鈥檚 usually best to use the Advanced Search.
Find the Full Text
Once you have your citation, either from an index like PsycINFO or from a bibliography, go to the Resources page and use the . Find your cited journal in the alphabetical list.聽 Beneath the journal title are the dates we have available in full text, and either a link to the full text online, or a note stating 鈥�91精品 Library Print Journals,鈥� meaning that the Library subscribes to the journal in paper.聽 Print journals are shelved in the library鈥檚 general collection, alphabetically by journal title.聽 Journals do not circulate, but may be used in the library.
Most of our journals are accessible in full-text online.聽 In the Journal Locator, note whether our coverage of the journal includes the date of your article.聽 If it does, click on the link, then choose the year/volume and issue from your article citation.聽 Full text articles will be available either as PDFs or occasionally in HTML.
If we don鈥檛 hold your cited journal, or if our holdings don鈥檛 include the issue you need, the next step is to check UC Berkeley鈥檚 holdings.聽 Open UC Berkeley鈥檚 online catalog, select the 鈥淛ournal title begins with鈥︹�� button, and enter the journal title.聽 The search results will indicate whether UC Berkeley has the journal in print, in full-text online, or both.
